USD 200 can train a student for life!
Message from Gundeep Kaur who is running Sundown Full Marathon to raise funds for 12 such students:
Did you know?
"India has over 400 mm children below 15 years of age. Most of them enroll in schools, but by class VIII about half of them drop out. Only about 38% make it to class X. Among tribal children, almost 80% drop out by class X.Over 93% of India's labour force is employed in the informal sector, where wages are low and work conditions onerous."
GRAVITY, a partnership between Grameen Koota and Vidya Poshak - a rural vocational training and skills development institute plans to train 500 such youths per year to make them self-sustainable.
In an effort to support GRAVITY, I am running Sundown Full Marathon 2011 on 28th May. I am raising funds via Milaap – a social enterprise that provides GRAVITY with financial aid schemes for training the students.
If you would like to kindly sponsor me and help this good cause please donate.
Barclays has kindly agreed to match the funds I raise. This will help you to double the impact of your contribution. Targeted amount is USD 1200 without Barclays' contribution.
All donations will be greatly received.
